3D Printing
Exciting News: 3D printing NOW available at Steveston Smiles!
3D printing utilizes a digital scan of your mouth to create custom night guards and appliances. This modern technique enhances accuracy, efficiency, and patient convenience by eliminating the need for traditional molds.
How It Works
- Digital Scanning: An intraoral scanner captures a 3D digital image of the patient’s mouth, replacing the messy traditional molds.
- CAD Design: The scan is transformed into a computer-aided design (CAD) file, where a digital model of the dental device is crafted.
- 3D Printing: The device is constructed layer by layer using specialized dental-grade materials.
- Finishing: The printed item undergoes washing and polishing to ensure quality.
